Here’s 2 days worth of camera and sound gear packed onto my brand new Rocknroller Multi-Cart and ready for me to deliver media and speaking training at one of Canberra’s cultural institutions. As my training has evolved, I’ve loved building this kit that allows me to show people how to perform well in front of the media when either stating their case or telling their story. Depending on what’s needed and level of experience, I’ve developed a mix of engaging theory and practical in front of the camera (or microphone) training tasks. But really, while all that’s amazing and I’m achieving great results for my executive clients, there’s also something kind of cool about buying road cases and filling them with cameras, tripods, mics, lights and other bits to make the training feel as real as possible. ... Well, it was a night of ‘firsts’ for me. First, let me say a huge thanks to Netball ACT for asking me to host their 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner. It was my first time working at the Red Shed, an incredible new(ish) venue in Canberra. Also, as a presenting first, we stepped back into Netball ACT history by inviting Nicole McMahon, Carmel Weatherburne and Robyne Houston forward to the mics. We showed old Netball ACT photos on the screens, and they shared stories of what was happening in those shots. It worked a treat and the audience loved it. Congrats to Elsi Wolff for bringing the night together and thanks again for having me. ... See MoreSee Less

Huge thanks to Dione David, Shayna Siakimotu, Tim White and the team at Region Canberra for writing and publishing this article. They’ve captured some of the themes and instruction from my speaking and media training sessions at www.presentwithimpact.com.au I can’t begin to tell you how much I love showing people these skills. It’s now my mission in life to change an audience from being bored and more interested in what’s on their phone, to being engaged, entertained and moved to action - one speaker at a time!!! region.com.au/why-even-great-speakers-get-nervous-and-how-they-beat-it/864395 ... My journey to hosting Meguiar's MotorEx 23 started by being dumped on a deserted Canberra road in the pitch black at 4.45am by an Uber driver who couldn’t get the app to work and refused to drive me any further on route to Canberra Airport. It finished with a 3-hour writing session at Melbourne airport meeting a deadline just in time! In the middle of all that? Well, it was by far the best MotorEx I’ve presented at. We unveiled 15 incredible brand-new builds; interviewed owners and drivers of show cars, street cars and the crazy guys behind the wheel of the methanol monsters; awarded trophies and medals on a huge new stage and helped make it an awesome experience for over 16,000 guests. While I’m no selfie fan, when I’m in a room alone with around 20 million dollars worth of engineered art, I couldn’t help but to take this pic. Now it’s back into a collar and tie for a number of corporate hosting commitments this week, and not a microfibre cloth in sight! ... See MoreSee Less

It was again an honour to lead the pre-match commemorations as part of the Canberra Raiders and NRL ANZAC round. So much care and thought goes into the ceremonies around the country for this round. With the large defence presence in the national capital, I loved that the Raiders were given a home game on this very special weekend. ... See MoreSee Less
