9 – Guided Walk of Bendora Arboretum
Reconnect with nature and take some time out to explore and appreciate Canberra’s stunning and sole surviving arboreta, the Bendora Arboretum. Many of the trees are over 75 years old! Enjoy the fresh air and the remote landscape while sharing a picnic with friends. You’ll find it hard to believe such diverse wilderness is located in Canberra’s backyard! Autumn is an ideal time to see it.

5 – AMB 100 Mountain Bike Marathon
Join locals and mountain bikers from all over Australia to conquer the Stromlo trails and enjoy Canberra’s spectacular views! The AMB 100 Marathon is a lap-based event that features almost all the trails of Stromlo Forest Park on a giant monster circuit. It’s family-friendly with kids races and activities and yummy food. Choose your own challenge with options to ride 33km, 66km, 100km or 100 miles.

4 – Canberra & Region Heritage Festival
This year’s theme ‘Questions & Change’ looks at how far we’ve come 50 years on from the 1967 referendum where Indigenous Australians were counted in the census. With over 100 events, most free, you can enjoy tours, open days, dances, talks, dinners, markets and more. The festival raises awareness about the need to conserve the region’s Aboriginal heritage.

3 – Lego Immersion Zone at Westfield Belconnen

1 – ANZAC Day commemorations
With many Canberrans enjoying another long weekend, it’s the perfect time to start planning your Anzac Day events. Head to the War Memorial for the Dawn Service, National Ceremony and Last Post Ceremony. Avoid the hassle of trying to find a car park – get a FREE bus and register to ride. And why not head along to a local pub or club for a go at Two-up! Children can also make a paper poppy to plant in the Westfield Belconnen ANZAC Day garden on April 23 & 24 between 10am-2pm.
