8 – HMAS Canberra Freedom of Entry Parade
Royal Australian Navy Officers and Sailors from HMAS Canberra (III) will exercise their right to Freedom of Entry with a formal parade. The parade will march up Bunda Street, along Northbourne Avenue and into London Circuit before being challenged in front of the Legislative Assembly. A Freedom of Entry is the most honourable distinction a city may bestow on a contingent of the Australian Defence Force and is celebrated with a ceremonial parade through the city streets.
