9) Australian Netball League finals
The Canberra GIANTS finished fourth on the ANL ladder and will play top seed Victorian Fury at the ACT Netball Centre! The winners will meet in the grand final and Super Netball curtain-raiser at the AIS on Sunday. In the Super Netball – GIANTS Netball face the Adelaide Thunderbirds on Sunday. A blockbuster weekend!

8) Queanbeyan Christmas in July – Winter Dream
Get into the festive spirit at Queanbeyan’s mid-year Christmas gathering! Check out over 200 market stalls with Christmas-inspired food, gourmet treats, beer and wine, handmade Christmas gifts, an artificial snow area, Dachshund races and fashion show, an art exhibition, play area, carriage rides, outdoor obstacle course, bubble soccer, Santa pet photos and a giving tree. The big man in red might even make an appearance!

7) Southern Highlands Pie Festival
What’s better than a hot pie on a cold day? The month-long celebration of the great Aussie pie wraps up this weekend, so be sure to get amongst it! There’s a jam-packed program of pie themed events, tours and activities. Try a range of delicious pies, go on a Pie Cycle Bike tour of the Southern Highlands, try pie cooking classes, pie themed high teas and much more!

6) Brumbies v Hurricanes
The final regular season match of the campaign sees the Hurricanes sweep into Canberra to take on the Brumbies at GIO Stadium! Our guys will have their work cut out for them, as the New Zealanders have a stack of world class players. The Brumbies Super Rugby hopes were ended at the quarter final stage by the Hurricanes last year, so no doubt the boys will be keen to get one back and end the season on a high.

5) National Portrait Gallery’s winter exhibition: So Fine
Check out the 250+ works at the National Portrait Gallery’s winter exhibition ‘So Fine’. Visitors can expect a rich exhibition with a range of artworks including paintings, sculptures, tapestries and much more. There’s even works on possum skins and coconut shells! 10 women artists portray their chosen aspect or theme in Australian history. Two Canberra artists are involved – Nicola Dickson and Valerie Kirk!

4) Yass Winter Fair
Fun for all – the Yass Winter Fair will include a range of stalls selling gourmet products, arts and crafts, historical displays and refreshments. Located at the Historical former home of Hamilton Hume – Cooma Cottage. Visitors can also try the ever popular horse and cart rides! Take the family out for an adventure!

3) Westfield Woden Truffle Market Day
Westfield Woden will celebrate the Canberra Truffle Festival all day on Saturday! 2) The Forage

1) Skating At Festival
The open-air ice rink offers fun for the whole family with music, rides and delicious food! Ideal for people of all ages and skill levels.
