9 – Room on the Broom

A chance for the kids to see Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s beloved book Room on the Broom come to life on stage! The team behind The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child return with songs, laughs and scary fun for kids aged 3 and up – and their grown-ups!

8 – Canberra Bonsai Society Annual Show

Check out a range of high quality bonsai with both traditional exotic plant species and Australian species on display. There’ll also be demonstration sessions at 11am and 2pm covering how to design and maintain bonsai, as well as ‘Bonsai Basics’ sessions at 10am and 1pm.

7 – UC Capitals vs Adelaide Lightning

6 – RFS Community Day at Googong

Fire trucks are cool for kids big and small and now’s the chance to get a good look under the hood! Climb the ladders and try the giant hoses with the help of volunteers. Meet local heroes, try their gear on and hear about their adventures. There’ll also be live music, a jumping castle, sausage sizzle and truck loads of free family fun! And get some tips on how to stay fire safe.

5 – Capital Collab: A Taste of 2 Cities

An event not to be missed – with Canberra and Wellington chefs, brewers, barista, musicians and bike designers coming together at NewActon. Your ticket gets you a taste of the 13 wineries (over 45 wines) and a take-home tasting glass. Wine, beer and food – what more could you ask for?

4 – Operation S**t Your Pants

A truly spine chilling event – with a 200-acre pine plantation transformed into a horror set from hell! It’ll be packed full of zombies, the walking dead, special effects and scary surprises. A course route guides you through the forest and a series of horror stations. Dress as a member of the walking dead or in straight human form.

3 – Government House Open Day

The Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove and Lady Cosgrove will host the 2017 Government House Open Day. A great opportunity to tour the historic residence and have a picnic on the lawn. Food and drinks will be available for purchase! A fun day out for the family.
