7 – Australian National Rope Skipping Championships
Canberra’s own Jazzy Jumpers are co-hosting this year’s National Championship with Skipping Australia at the AIS. 300+ skippers from around Australia are coming to Canberra for three days of skipping action! Events range from singles, teams, freestyle and double dutch. Watch the competitors aged from 5 to 18+ display a sport that requires so much skill.

Trove Canberra wants to fill Garema Place with knitters, crocheters, weavers, spinners and stitchers of all kinds on World Wide Knit in Public Day. 2 – Australian National Broomball Championships
Teams from the ACT, NSW and SA are competing in a range of men’s, women’s and mixed categories. Broomball is like a cross between ice hockey and field hockey, only the players don’t skate, they run on the ice! Goals are scored by getting a small soccer sized ball past the goalie by whacking it with the sticks (brooms). Head along to support the Canberra teams!

Royal celebrations will be in full swing at the Museum of Australian Democracy with a range of regal activities! Museum goers can also marvel at a giant LEGO picture of the Queen on the steps of Old Parliament House or get hands on with LEGO designs channelling all things royal.
